New calibration books

Naktuinbouw adds three new books to its calibration range: roses and potato (Dutch) and alstroemeria (English). For the purpose of harmonised DUS testing, Naktuinbouw uses calibration books. They contain detailed information how features of all major crops are listed. 
Each feature, based on UPOV guidelines and CPVO protocols, is explained and completed with drawings and photographs. The books can be purchased for € 60,- per item. The books are also available in a digital format.
For applicants for DUS testing, these books can be of great use. It is a helpful tool in filling the technical questionnaire and will help to make variety descriptions and enlarges the understanding of the descriptions made by official bodies. The calibrations books will not replace the professional skill needed in order to make sound descriptions but can be used as a manual. For each crop with multiple applications for plant variety rights and / or admission is a calibration book.
