Nematodes

Nematodes occur everywhere - in soil, plant material and seed. Nematodes can be both harmful and useful. Harmful nematodes weaken plants and may even cause them to die. This explains the importance of identifying the presence of nematodes before starting to grow crops.

Naktuinbouw laboratories can test for the presence of harmful nematodes for virtually all crops in soil, plant material and seed. As well as single tests for fungi, Naktuinbouw can also perform combination tests:

• a combined test for nematodes and  Verticillium dahliae in soil samples, for strawberry plant propagation: (Combined Soil Test Strawberry).
