Growing healthy Bouvardia requires good quality, healthy propagating material. Propagating companies can indicate the high quality of their propagating material by participating in the quality-plus system Naktuinbouw Select Plant.
The plants and/or mother plants are inspected during blossoming and during growth. Samples are taken annually and tested for cucumber mosaic virus (CMV). Plants or a lot of mother plants will be classified as Class E if they meet the requirements of the standard. There is a 2% maximum tolerance percentage for viruses.
