This English-language training on plant sampling is designed to enhance understanding of how sampling procedures influence test outcomes. Upon completion, participants will have acquired both the knowledge and practical skills necessary to obtain representative samples. Emphasis is placed on the significance of proper hygiene, methodology, and technique to ensure reliable results. By the end of the training, attendees will be equipped to collect plant samples in accordance with NAFI, NAL, ASLN, and Elite guidelines.

Target group

For prospective employees (including supervisors and team leaders) involved in plant sampling, as well as experienced managers seeking to improve their company's sampling process.

Date and location

Duration: 1 training day and next day (or day after) skills and proficiency check (1 hour participant-trainer.) Part of a training week conducted in English
Classroom time: 08.30 till 16.30 hours (training day) & 1 hour skills and proficiency check
Location: Naktuinbouw, Roelofarendsveen, The Netherlands.

Program

The course comprises both theoretical overviews and practical assignments, complemented by group discussions. Participants will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience regarding methods to enhance the quality and reliability of plant samples. The course will be conducted in English.

  • Key aspects of plant sampling such as crop monitoring/scouting
  • Common sampling pitfalls
  • Sample definitions and contents
  • Plant sampling procedures
  • Company hygiene during sampling
  • NAFI/NAL/ASLN, Elite, GSPP quality standards
  • Sampling plans and documentation
  • Practical: sampling per quality standards

The training concludes with a practice exam. Successful completion of the exam results in certification as a plant sampling officer for NAL/ASLN, Elite, and GSPP.

Fee

This includes costs related to the course, such as materials, exams, catering, and administration. Board, lodging, and VAT are not included.
